Earlyish start, Muckross House tour with Mom. Fascinating story of the house 67 rooms, visit from Queen Victoria, which ended up bankrupting the family, purchased by American Gold mine baron, as a wedding gift to his daughter who married an Irishman. When she died young he donated the estate to the country of Ireland which was the first National Park with 26,000 acres.
Long and winding road to the Cliffs of Moher. Drizzly weather all day but no real down pour. Chris and I took a quick walk along the cliffs and took lots of photos while Mom napped in the car.
Back roads to Galway. Found the BandB this time based on a real address. 2 young ladies from Latvia managing the place. Much bigger and a little nicer than the last one, but still with far too little parking. Drove around in the rain, looking for the ferrys to Aran Islands for tomorrow, waste of time. Tried to find the great place Mom ate at last time, McSorley's, no, McSwiggans, no, ... It was on this kind of street, near such and such. Getting late and hungry, found it totally by accident. Great meal, back to room for rest.
Tomorrow early start to Aran Islands.
